Biography

Rising star Farrah Talei is celebrated for her graceful and effortless Egyptian style.

The dance runs through her veins giving her style a profound authenticity from deep within. Her experiences growing up in the Middle East combined with truly understanding the music and an intense passion for the art of Raqs Sharqi, gives her performances and choreographic works flawless perfection.

Since winning the Egyptian Category of the Belly Dancer of the Universe competition with only a couple of years of Oriental dance training under her belt, she's gone on to win more awards and accolades.

After starting her dance training in Jazz, she continued her growth by studying both ballet and modern dance. When she joined Angelika Nemeth's Dance Ensemble, an award winning Middle Eastern Dance Company based in Orange County, California, she was recognized for her smooth, natural style.

As a founding member of the Ya Amar! Middle Eastern Dance Company, she was highly acclaimed for her flowing style and artistic interpretations. Ya Amar! is directed by Sahra Saeeda and based in Southern California. Farrah contributed to and performed numerous theater presentations of Middle East dances produced by Ya Amar!.

In 2008, Farrah become a member of the Ghazella Dance Company directed by Zahra Zuhair. The most recent show is the "Journey" which Farrah co-produced.

As a featured soloist, Farrah has danced at various venues throughout Southern California for over 15 years, some of which include theater stages and nightclubs.

In 2011, a piece she choreographed with Zahra Zuhair for 8 dancers was presented as part of a 3 show series titled "A Choreographer's Collective".
